Kawasaki Motor Corporation, in cooperation with the Consumer Protection Safety Commission (CPSC), has announced the recall of approximately 7,086 Teryx4/EPS/LE recreational off-highway vehicles to address possible issues with the steering gear assembly and/or the front brake calipers.
The CPSC’s recall announcement says that, “On eligible units, the steering gear assembly and/or the front brake calipers could fail, resulting in the loss of steering and/or braking, creating the potential for a crash resulting in injury or death.”
Kawasaki dealers sold the affected units beginning October, 28 2011. So far there are no recorded incidents owing to the hazard.
According to the recall notification, “the repair will consist of repairing the steering gear assembly and the front brake calipers when parts become available.”
