Kawasaki Motor Corporation, in cooperation with the Consumer Protection Safety Commission (CPSC), has announced the recall of approximately 7,086 Teryx4/EPS/LE recreational off-highway vehicles to address possible issues with the steering gear assembly and/or the front brake calipers.

The CPSC’s recall announcement says that, “On eligible units, the steering gear assembly and/or the front brake calipers could fail, resulting in the loss of steering and/or braking, creating the potential for a crash resulting in injury or death.”

Kawasaki dealers sold the affected units beginning October, 28 2011. So far there are no recorded incidents owing to the hazard.

According to the recall notification, “the repair will consist of repairing the steering gear assembly and the front brake calipers when parts become available.”

For information regarding the recall, contact your authorized Kawasaki dealer or call Kawasaki toll-free at 866-802-9381 between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm PT, Monday through Friday. The recall announcement can be found on Kawasaki’s website.
